When did italian cuisine become apart of australia?

- mainly after the second world war , plus a lot of prisoners of war were detained , in places like newcastle, and never went back to italy , if you are up on your history you would be aware that japanese p.o.w `s were stationed at cowra, after the war a lot of italians migrated to aust.and were housed in quonson huts at greta , a suburb of newcastle ,and were employed, locally,in the restaurants ,vineyards,etc. there way of life was very quickly rubbed off on the aust. way of life.
